Don’t keep your old cosmetics. – Good advice from Save On Cosmetics.
Do you never get around to sorting out your makeup bag or that dressing table drawer where loads of cosmetics get pushed to the back then make the odd reappearance?.
Do you ever look for the sell by and use by dates? Well for your own good dig deep into that bag or drawer and bring into the light all those products you have had for years and never get round to parting with. Using certain products for too long can be unhealthy.
If products are passed their sell by date, they become ineffective and you run the risk of contamination. According to the Cosmetics Safety Regulations of 1996, only products that will not last longer than 30 months need to show a use by date, whereas all other products do not need one.
Time to bin.
Most cosmetics without a use by date should no longer be used 3 years after manufacture. How long has that mascara been at the back of the drawer?
Most cosmetics contain up to 5 or 6 preservatives to ensure that they do not allow bacteria to breed easily. Once they are out of date they tend to look and smell ‘off’.
In some cases you could develop a nasty rash or skin infection by using contaminated cosmetics. Is it worth taking the risk especially with eye products?
So clean out that makeup bag and have fun buying the latest products and colour trends. You will find some great discount cosmetics at Save On Cosmetics
