LIPSTICKS
Lipstick has been in use for about 5000 years, and is the easiest way to add an instant splash of colour to your face. The greater the pigment content a lipstick has the longer it will last on the lips. Colour can also be applied with a lip gloss – either alone to give the lips a sheen, or over the top of lipstick. The best way to apply lipstick is by means of a lip brush.
Before lipstick is applied a lip liner can be used to provide an outline. When used over the entire lips liners produce a dark matt finish.
Lip balm – a moisturiser for the lips which helps to prevent dryness.
Lip liner – used to produce the required lip outline.
Matt lipstick – creates a solid block of colour with minimal shine. Always use lip balm first as this lipstick has few moisturizing ingredients.
Satin lipstick – more moisturizing than matt lipstick but not as long-lasting. Gives a shiny finish.
Frosted lipstick – ideal for evening looks, having a shimmery iridescent finish.
Lip gloss – can be clear or coloured, giving a sheer shiny effect. May also be used over a matt lipstick to add some shine.
Lip stain –this is normally liquid and gives exceptionally long-lasting coverage. Doesn’t require the use of lip liner first.
Lip sealant – use for setting bright matt colours.
Lip pencils – the perfect tool for creating quick definition. Softer and fatter than lip liners.
Lip brush – the best way to apply lipstick is with a good-quality lip brush.
